10 ECONOMIC STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION – OPENING CEREMONY BY YB DATO’ SRI LIOW TIONG LAI 

“Empowering Malaysian Youth in Agribusiness”, the theme for this year’s 10 Economic Strategic Directions (ESD) conference which recently took place at Wisma MCA, KL on the 6th and 7th October.

World trade in food and agriculture products has expanded rapidly in recent decades. Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations estimated that the international agriculture trade volume in 2015 was valued at USD 16,000 billion (FAO, 2017). A progressive agribusiness will not only provide opportunities for Malaysia to benefit from the increased world agriculture trade, it may raise income, alleviate poverty and improve food security for the country. This conference aims to spur interest and encourage greater involvement of Malaysian youth in agribusiness.

The Guest of Honour, YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai (MCA President cum Minister of Transport, Malaysia) officiated the ceremony and visited the exhibition booths alongside with YB Senator Datuk Chong Sin Woon (Deputy Minister of Education, Malaysia).

YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai and YB Datuk Chong Sin Woon were briefed on the function and features of TechCapital’s Agribot.
